Backs can be tricky things. We have certainly given ours some use and abuse over the years. The trouble is, time ticks on and the cost of this inattention as you probably know well, can be painful. In our attempts to find some relief, we went looking for solutions that could both help with the immediate discomfort and also provide long-term answers.
A complication for one of our team was being diagnosed with a condition called ankylosing spondylitis in their teens. This delightful (sic) form of arthritis creates a highly reactive state in the body where sensitivity to input from posture becomes extreme (amongst other issues). The up side is that they have become very knowledgeable about “postural lazinesses” that lead us all towards hurt and ways to avoid this.
When we went looking for solutions, we found that there were literally hundreds of products to choose from and we didn’t know where to start . . . and that is how Posture Corrector Reviews was born. We want this site to be the ultimate one stop shop for links to the best posture correcting products, ideas, and exercises.
Our core aim is to sort out the best products from among the dozens of ineffective and over hyped ones (and there are many!). We need your feedback and ideas to make the site truly useful so don’t be shy with your thoughts – all pages have opportunities for you to share your experiences.
Walk tall.

Hi Dave.
I like your site and your approach.
I’m a New Zealand physiotherapist trying to do something about the iHunch. That’s the hunched upper back driving neck pain and headache – usually in front of laptops, tablets and smartphones. It would be the commonest upper spinal problem in the developed world – I lecture on it.
We’ve developed a device and programme in New Zealand specifically for home treatment and ongoing self care of the problem. If you analyse what goes on accurately, you come up with a multi-disciplinary simple collection of exercises, home massage, posture and the Backpod to deal to each of the components. It’s the collection of approaches which works, not one single thing on its own.
Incidentally this explains why so much health professional treatment doesn’t work or last – you have to get round all the aspects of the problem for any improvement to stay. An example is traditional chiropractic manipulation – great for banging free a frozen joint, but doesn’t stretch the tight shortened collagen around the joint, so it just freezes up again. We’ve built a spinal fulcrum called the Backpod which will effectively stretch the tightened collagen of a chronic hunched thoracic spine, so the unlocked joints get a chance to stay free. Have a look on our website http://www.bodystance.co.nz – or just Google ‘Backpod.’
It’s emphatically not a gimmick. I’ve been treating spines for 30 years and this is the New Zealand take on what actually works for this particular pattern. Most of the health pro approaches aren’t wrong, but many (most?) health pros are so busy and specialised that they don’t get around all the components of the problem, hence don’t get a lasting improvement. The Backpod with its programme isn’t in opposition but will help all of them by filling in the gaps.
The Backpod device is more specific and can produce higher leverage than a foam roller, will also stretch rib joints (whereas a foam roller can’t), and is better than anything else I can find on the net. That’s not hype – I’m happy to discuss the technicalities. I think it’s also the only home device that will oppose the direction of twist of a mild scoliosis; and it’s pretty much home treatment of choice for ankylosing spondylitis. We’ve driven a Jeep Cherokee over one to test it for the USA – it’s strong. It doesn’t have a snake oil reservoir..
If you send me your email and physical addresses, I can send you some material, and also a Backpod.
Regards,
Steve August (B.A.,Dip.Physio.).
Hi Steve
Thanks for reaching out to us. We will be very happy to review one of your products – not often we look at a product from good old NZ!
I will pm you the necessary details.
Kind regards
Dave
