Equifit Shouldersback Lite Review
The EquiFit ShouldersBack Lite is a summerweight version of the original ShouldersBack. The manufacturer developed it for customers who found the original product too hot in the summer months. The main change was in the fabric used. This summer version uses a softer and less bulky material (called PowerMesh) which seems to appeal to a wide range of users.
Because of the design of the product, wearers need to be careful not create a “head forward” posture when wearing it for long intervals. It is best used to retrain your muscles in controlled periods of time.
Purpose of the Equifit
The Equifit Shouldersback Lite is designed to force the wearer to maintain an upright posture. As its name suggests, it pulls the wearer’s shoulders back. The posture corrector is very popular with the equestrian crowd as it can be discreetly worn under clothing and helps the riders maintain an upright posture while competing. These qualities are also why many other women choose to use one.
Should I Get One?
The answer depends on your intended use. A definite “yes” if you are a horse rider looking for support of the upper back. If you have lower back pain, or just generally want to improve your posture, there are better options. (We suggest the excellent Lumo Lift for general posture correction and the Mueller Back Brace for lumbar support.)
The cost of around $50usd is a little higher than we would like to see, but for this, you do get a well proven posture corrector that has proved effective for its intended use.
